I had that problem, too, on my friends IBM.  It seems that LW Pre-Release
will not load an object that has no polygons in it.  I found this out by
trying to load a Null object (yeah, I know, use Add NullObject, but I
wanted to REPLACE and existing object with it).  Haven't been able to try
this on his 4.0 Final...
